Pocket offers a revolutionary feature that could transform the way we buy Bitcoin.
Thanks to this system, every bank transfer made by users is automatically converted into Bitcoin and sent directly to their personal wallet.
There is no longer a need to create an account on an exchange platform or go through lengthy registration and identity verification processes.
Pocket allows you to buy Bitcoin without registration up to the following limits:
CHF 1000 per transaction per day
EUR 950 per transaction per day
All you need is the banking app you already use daily and a Bitcoin wallet.
GUIDE to buying BITCOIN using POCKET
This is the interface when you have just downloaded and opened the app:
2. First, you need to add a Bitcoin wallet. Click on "Hi 👋 Add a Bitcoin wallet to get started." You will have two ways to add a wallet:
Creating a new Bitcoin wallet directly from Pocket (recommended choice).
Connecting an existing wallet via XPUB key (for experts).
For an experienced user, this might be the best option, but I wouldn't recommend it because this way you would link your wallet to Pocket, making it possible to identify you (having made a bank transfer) associated with the wallet. This data could be available to Pocket.
3. Link your email, then click on "Log In" and enter your email. You can use any email you prefer; no identity verification will be required.
Confirm your email by entering the code you received in the email.
4. Now you are ready to buy Bitcoin; this is the interface:
5. Click on "Buy Bitcoin."
6. Before entering the amount, enter the referral code
that will give you the chance to get $5 for free.
Click on "Do you have a referral code?"
Enter the code: XCSHND.
7. Enter the amount you want to purchase; for this tutorial,
let's put €20 and click continue.
8. Enter the IBAN from which you will make the bank transfer to purchase Bitcoin.
(You can use any bank or card like Revolut.)
9. Select the wallet where you want the Bitcoin you are purchasing to be deposited.
10. Make the transfer using the details provided by Pocket:
Send the amount you have set.
Enter the payment message in the reference.
If your bank asks for nationality, set it to United Kingdom.
You will find all the details—beneficiary, bank, address, etc.—on this screen.
Once you have completed the transfer, click on "DONE."
11. Wait for the Bitcoin you purchased to arrive.
For this tutorial, I made an instant transfer, and the payment arrived within a few minutes!
12. In about 24 hours, your Bitcoin will be in your wallet, and you will be able to withdraw them to an external wallet. If you want to store them securely in the long term, I recommend using a hardware wallet like Ledger.
